Following the debut album -I AM-, here comes the second release for My Own Parasite (Plumbea Records)The Killer Elite EP. It's a 21 minuntes lasting EP, featuring 5 previously unreleased tracks (except the title track, "Killer Elite").
This EP is inhabited by a homogeneous atmosphere since the band felt the need to fully express some very important aspects of their music before recording the second album - which will be available in Autumn 2005.
"We decided to put these pieces together as they remind us of noir movies and their cinematographic suggestions. Actually, the tracks were originally conceived as soundtracks for shorts. We were listening to those pieces and realised that if we worked on them, expanding their potential by recording new instruments on the original tracks, we would reach the very point that we wanted to express when we released tem. This EP also has the function to pay homage to the "historical" collaboration with our friend and director Toni D'Angelo. The pieces found their origins in the musical-visual union: the compositions have to be adapted to the movie's needs. But this is one of the reasons why we constantly approach to different genres; it's a very important and gratifying work, therefore worth the release" m.o.p.
The band is writing and recording the second album at the moment. Of course, they're also working with D'Angelo to the soundtrack to the director's first LP movie (written in collaboration with Abel Ferrara)

Dopo il debutto di -I AM- la seconda uscita dei My own parasite per Plumbea Records è un EP di 5 brani (tutti inediti tranne killer elite) per un totale di 21'15. L' EP è nato da un'esigenza di approfondirne alcuni aspetti molto cari alla band prima della pubblicazione del secondo disco prevista per l'autunno 2005. I brani presenti nel seguente lavoro sono stati scelti e composti dai my own parasite seguendo una linea guida per cercare di ottenere un'atmosfera omogenea.
"..abbiamo volutamente messo assieme suoni che ci ricordano e rimandano a suggestioni cinematografiche "noir", non a caso tutti questi brani sono stati scritti e composti per colonne sonore di cortometraggi. Ascoltando il materiale già registrato in passato ci siamo accorti che lavorando ulteriormente, con sovraincisioni di altri strumenti, saremmo arrivati ad ottenere l'idea che ci ha spinto a pubblicarli. Speriamo di esserci riusciti...
...il disco vuole anche rendere omaggio alla ormai "storica" collaborazione con il nostro amico e regista Toni D'angelo. E' dal connubio dei due ambiti musica-immagini che sono nati questi brani: l'approccio compositivo viene spesso piegato alle esigenze che la "colonna sonora" impone. Questo ci spinge a confrontarci con altri generi o contaminazione di generi; è un lavoro per noi molto gratificante e importante, di conseguenza degno di essere pubblicato". m.o.p
Il gruppo è attualmente impegnato nella composizione e registrazione dei brani per il loro secondo album. In ambito cinematografico stanno lavorando con Toni alla colonna sonora del primo lungometraggio del regista romano scritto a quattro mani con Abel Ferrara.
